Within PhoneBurner, you have the ability to send an SMS text message from a template in your SMS library with the click of a disposition button within a dial session. This allows you to trigger pre-written, but personalized text messages based on various call outcomes.
In this article, we review how to create a library of SMS messages and how to assign them to a disposition button.
Please note, the ability to send SMS text messages is limited to Premium Accounts and approval is required. The approval process can be found here.
First, you must create a library of SMS messages.
Select your icon in the top right corner and then select “My Account”.
Click on the “SMS tab” in the submenu.
Select + Add SMS Message.
Create your SMS message.
- The Name Field is how you will label the message so you can tell which message it is.
- The Description Field is where you can put additional information on the purpose of the text message.
- The Your Message Field is where you will include your text message copy.
- Merge codes can be used to dynamically code personalization into the messages.
- SmartSender links can be included in text messages.
- Images cannot be included.
Make sure you click Save Changes.
You can repeat this step for as many messages as you would like to keep in your SMS Library.
Once you have created a message in your SMS library you can now configure the disposition button.
Select the “Dial Session tab” in the submenu.
Then select “Dispositions” on the left-hand side.
SMS text messages can be added to buttons within the Dialing Set (e.g. send a text when you reach voicemail) and Live Answer Set (e.g. send a text when you disposition a call as Appointment Set).
To add sending an SMS text message to a dialing set or live answer set, select the pencil icon or click on the name of the dialing set you would like to edit, or create a new set of dispositions by selecting +Add New Dialing Set or +Add New Live Answer Set.
When editing or creating a new button, you can select an SMS Message from your SMS Library in the drop-down menu to be sent when that disposition is used in the dial session in the section called “SMS Message”.
Make sure to review and complete all other setting options for your disposition button and click “Save Changes”.
PLEASE NOTE: Removing an SMS from the library does not always remove it from your disposition button. You will need to change the setting of the disposition button that is set to send an SMS text message to either Do not send SMS or link a new message.
