As of early 2023, mobile carriers will no longer carry unregistered SMS messages sent by a software application.
As such, customers who wish to send text messages using software such as PhoneBurner must be registered and approved by the carriers via The Campaign Registry™ (TCR) - the reputation authority for business messaging on 10DLC (10 digit long codes).
Carriers now require TCR registration to know:
- Who is sending messages
- What messaging is being sent
- That recipients have directly consented to receiving these messages
In other words, TCR paves the way for sanctioned, verified, and trusted text messaging that benefits and protects both businesses and consumers alike.
Our Trust & Safety team helps you every step of the way through this process. You can reach out to us at trust@phoneburner.com at any point with questions.
What is 10DLC?
10DLC is the new standard for Application-to-Person (A2P) text messaging utilizing a traditional 10 digit phone number that, unlike Short Codes, also supports voice communications.
How do I register?
Our Trust & Safety works directly with TCR to register your business and brand.
To register you must:
- Complete SMS Checklist Requirements
- Complete the SMS Compliance Form
- Complete your PhoneBurner Business Verification Form
Your information is then reviewed by our team, and submitted to TCR.
What information is needed to register?
The Carriers require information needed to verify your business identity, ensure consent procedures are in place, and vet that the messaging you send adheres to industry rules and guidelines.
As such, you’ll need to provide information including:
- Your legal business name
- Your EIN
- Company and point-of-contact information
- Text opt-in consent procedures
- Sample text messages
