🔍 Personal Information Search

When you open the Advanced Search menu, you’ll find options to search by:

• First Name
• Last Name
• Email
• Phone
• Whether a contact has an email address

Let’s go through an example.

🧍 Find "Johnny Sample"

If you type "Johnny" into the First Name field and "Sample" into Last Name, the system will look for contacts with exactly that name. If there’s no match, you’ll see zero results.

If you remove "Johnny" and just search for "Sample" in the last name field, you’ll get a list of everyone with that last name.

✳️ Wildcard Searching

Sometimes you’re unsure how something is spelled or formatted. That’s when wildcards come in handy.

Open the Wildcard Search Instructions and you'll see three ways to use the asterisk *:

1. Before and After:
   • *gmail* will return any email that contains the word "gmail".
2. Before Only:
   • *ple will return anything that ends with “ple”.
3. After Only:
   • Jo* will return any first names that start with “Jo” (like John, Johnny, Joan).

🧠 Smart Filtering

Still too many results? Combine filters:

• Jo* in first name
• Yes for "Has Email Address"
• Use part of a phone number (e.g., ends in 4) if you remember that detail

These combinations can help you quickly zero in on the contact you need, even with partial or fuzzy info.
