✅ Summary:
This video explains how to use PhoneBurner’s Advanced Search > Location Information section to find contacts based on geographic criteria—like state, zip code, zip radius, city, address, country, and time zone.
Key use cases shown include:
- Searching for all contacts located in Texas.
- Selecting multiple states or time zones (e.g., Texas and Florida, or Mountain and Pacific).
- Using zip radius searches to find contacts near a specific zip code—ideal for event outreach or local targeting.
- Filtering by time zone, useful for time-sensitive calling (though PhoneBurner automatically restricts calls to the 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. local time window).
- Using wildcard searches for city/address fields when unsure of exact spelling.
This helps users precisely target calls based on geography, making their outreach more relevant and timely.

📝 Cleaned-Up Transcript:
Hey, do we have any contacts in Texas we can call?
That’s a great question! In this training, part of the Advanced Search training module, we’re diving into the Location Information section of PhoneBurner’s Advanced Search.
This section helps you and your organization find the right people, in the right places, at the right time—so you can make smarter calls every day.
🌍 Location Search Options
In the Location Information section, you can search by:
- Address
- City
- State
- Zip code
- Zip radius
- Country
- Time zone
Let’s walk through some examples.
📍 Search by State
To find contacts in Texas:
- Go to the State dropdown.
- Type/select Texas.
- Click Search.
Boom—you’ll get a list of all contacts with Texas as their state.
Want to search multiple states (e.g., Texas and Florida)?
- Select both in the State menu.
- Hit Search to return all matching contacts.
🔢 Search by Zip Code & Radius
Want to search for contacts in a specific zip code?
- Enter the zip (e.g., 90210), leave the radius at Exact, and hit Search.
Want to expand the area?
- Use the Zip Radius dropdown:
- Within 1 mile
- 5 miles
- 10 miles
- ...up to 100 miles or more
This is great if you:
- Work in real estate
- Host events in a local region
- Do hyper-local sales outreach
⏰ Search by Time Zone
Let’s say you only want to call people in the Mountain Time Zone:
- Select Mountain under the Time Zone field.
- Click Search.
Want to include multiple time zones (e.g., Mountain and Pacific)? You can do that too.
Note: PhoneBurner automatically honors time zone rules, based on the contact’s phone number. By default, you can only call a contact between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. local time. You can change this in your settings, but you don’t need to worry about accidentally calling too early or too late—PhoneBurner handles it for you.
✳️ Wildcard Search Tips
Let’s say you're unsure how to spell a city name. Use a wildcard search:
- Search for cities that start with, contain, or end with a certain phrase.
- You don’t need to know the full or exact value.
This can be useful when working with messy or inconsistent data.
So that’s a quick walkthrough of how you can use Advanced Search in PhoneBurner to filter contacts based on location information.
Thanks for watching—and happy dialing!
