✅ Summary:
This training video focuses on how to use the Dial Session section within PhoneBurner’s Advanced Search to find contacts based on their call history, including how to get a list of everyone who was last called during a specific timeframe, such as last week.
Key functionality covered:
- Last Call filter: Search for contacts by the date they were last called, including between two specific dates (e.g., last Monday to last Friday).
- Other useful filters in the Dial Session section:
- First Called: Find when a contact was first contacted.
- Total Calls vs. Total Call Attempts: Helps distinguish between how many times a contact was dialed vs. how many outreach attempts were made.
- Call Status: Search based on the result of the last call (e.g., voicemail, no answer, appointment, etc.).
These filters help build highly targeted call lists, automate follow-up windows, and ensure consistent contact management.

📝 Cleaned-Up Transcript:
Hey, can we get a list of everybody that we last called last week?
That’s a great question, and in this training—part of our Advanced Search training module—we’ll walk through how to find exactly that using the Dial Session section.
We’re diving deep into one section at a time so you can master the full functionality of Advanced Search in PhoneBurner.
Accessing Dial Session Filters
Once you open Advanced Search, head to the Dial Session section. Here you’ll find five powerful filters:
- First Called
- Last Called
- Total Calls
- Total Call Attempts
- Status
Let’s break down how to use each one.
📞 First Called
This lets you search by the first time a contact was ever called. You can:
- Select a specific date
- Filter before or after a date
- Choose a range using the “Between” option
Example: To find all contacts first called between January 1 and May 23, you select those dates, hit Apply, then Search.
📞 Last Called
This is the most commonly used filter—very useful for day-to-day call management.
Just like First Called, you can search:
- On a specific date
- Before or after a date
- Between two dates — which is perfect for finding who was last called last week
✅ Example: Select “Between”, set your start and end dates for last week, click Apply, then Search—and you’ll get a full list of contacts last called in that time window.
You can also find:
- Contacts never called (great for onboarding new leads)
- Contacts called before X days ago (useful if you want to space calls out by 3+ days)
☎️ Total Calls vs. Total Call Attempts
These two are slightly different:
- Total Calls: Total number of dials made, regardless of contact method (e.g., calling 5 numbers = 5 calls).
- Total Call Attempts: Tracks outreach attempts (e.g., one outreach attempt to one contact = 1 attempt, even if multiple numbers were dialed).
You can search using values like:
- Less than or equal to X
- Greater than X
- Between specific numbers
Example: Combine Last Called Before 3 Days Ago and Total Call Attempts ≤ 5 to build a follow-up list.
📊 Call Status
Filter by the disposition selected during the last call—such as:
- Voicemail
- No Answer
- Busy Signal
You can create a focused follow-up list of contacts who haven’t responded or answered yet—ignoring those who booked, declined, or asked not to be contacted.
In Summary:
The Dial Session section gives you robust control over calling history, helping you:
- Space out calls logically
- Focus on warm or unresponsive contacts
- Automate multi-step outreach workflows
Use this feature to streamline and refine your dialing strategy.
Thanks again for watching—and happy dialing!
