How to Add and Assign Lead Sources for tracking and reporting
Assigning a named Lead Source to your contacts at the time of import allows you to track and report on your leads within the PhoneBurner contact manager. This includes filtering your ARMOR™ Analytics by Lead Source name. You can also use the Lead Source as a search parameter when using the Advanced Search feature.
Add and assign a Lead Source at the time of import
When importing contacts, it is possible to assign existing Lead Sources or add new ones.
During Step 3: Organize Data, you will have the option to select a lead source in the drop-down. You can either create a new lead source or choose an existing lead source.
Add and edit Lead Sources within the Contact Manager
You may edit your existing Lead Sources, or add new ones, from within the Contact Manager settings. You will still need to assign a Lead Source at the time of import.
Select your image or initials in the top right corner > Contacts > Lead Source
This page displays the current Lead Sources to edit or delete, and you also have the option to + Add Lead Source.
Assign a Lead Source using the PhoneBurner API
If you are using the PhoneBurner API, to have contacts created with a Lead Source you will need to create a Lead Source and include that ID in your API payload. Visit the Lead Source page and create + Add Lead Source if you want to assign a new Lead Source for the leads coming in from the API.
You must then use the source_id parameter to correctly post the contact details via the API. For further information on using the source_id parameter, please see the following: PhoneBurner Developer Documentation: source_id
Using Lead Source in Advanced Searches
Lead Source can be used as a parameter with Advanced Searches:
ARMOR™ Dashboard: Filter By Lead Source
Within the ARMOR™ Dashboard, you can filter by Lead Source to see how calls from each source have performed.
Team Reports: Standard Reports - Leads By Lead Source
This basic report is for checking out how many contacts have come from each source.
