What is PhoneBurner doing to help improve my live answer rates?
As a PhoneBurner customer, you have a partner whose North Star is the quantity and quality of your live connections. In short, we want more people to answer your phone calls.
To that end, we’ve launched an initiative to help you:
- Prevent calls from being incorrectly flagged as spam
- Strengthen the reputation of your phone numbers
- Get more of your phone calls answered
A key component of this process is the registration of your numbers with the Free Caller Registry - a process that PhoneBurner can perform on your behalf.
What is the Free Caller Registry?
The Free Caller Registry is a tool that allows companies making legitimate outbound calls to establish trust with the analytics services that support the major US wireless carriers.
It provides critical data that helps affirm that your calls are valid and should be going through to subscribers with limited risk of being flagged.
Who handles the registration?
In short:
- For numbers you purchase through us, we will handle the submission for you (as long as you have completed a Business Verification Form, which you can submit here)
- For numbers you own, you can register yourself
More specifically:
PhoneBurner will register on your behalf for any number you purchase through us including numbers currently in your inventory and new numbers that you purchase through us going forward.
To opt in, simply complete your Business Verification Form and check the box indicating you’d like us to submit your PhoneBurner numbers to the registry.
For numbers you own independently, you are welcome to initiate the submission yourself here.
What information is submitted?
The submission includes the numbers you would like registered, plus basic information about your company and calls including: Company Name, Address, Phone, Email, Contact Person, and Category (e.g. Financial services, Real estate, Law, etc.).
Please note this information may be used for CNAME data when a consumer has a third party service on their device that provides access to this enriched calling data.
What happens after my company and numbers are submitted?
There are three Analytics Engines that support the major US carriers.
Each will vet the information independently and may contact you at the primary phone number provided to verify the registration.
The speed of verification tends to vary by engine, but approvals or rejections typically take 24-48 hours. Whoever submits the registration is notified when the verification is complete, along with additional guidance or information that may be needed for approval.
Will approval eliminate “Scam Likely” flags?
Analytics Engines still weigh other criteria (complaints and blocked numbers, for example) so approved numbers can still occasionally be flagged.
Additionally, submissions support the reputation of your phone numbers to calls placed to subscribers of the three major US carriers - AT&T, T-Mobile/Sprint, and Verizon. Calls placed to subscribers outside of these networks will not be impacted.
That said, approvals substantially enhance the reputation of your numbers and should dramatically reduce your risk of being incorrectly flagged.
