Example: Instead of typing "Hey John," use a merge field for the recipient’s first name to dynamically insert it.

You can also use sender merge codes, such as the agent's first name, which makes scripts reusable across team members.

You can also paste in HTML to customize formatting, provided the merge codes are adapted properly.

Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to watch this video. In this training, I want to talk to you about how to create a script in the PhoneBurner® system.
As you begin using PhoneBurner and connecting with more and more people, you’re going to have lots of great live conversations. You likely know what you want to say, but having a script can help you in two important ways:

Stay on point during your conversations, so you don’t forget key talking points.

Scale your success, enabling your team to follow the same winning strategy.
PhoneBurner makes it really easy to create scripts that you can use during your dial sessions. Let me show you how.
Accessing Phone Scripts
From your PhoneBurner account:

Click on your image or initials in the upper-right corner to open the Settings menu.

Navigate to Dial Session Settings, then click Phone Scripts on the left-hand side.
Here, you’ll see any existing scripts in your account. Most users will see a default Follow-Up Script provided by PhoneBurner when they sign up. If you're part of an organization or joined through a special link, you might also see system content created by your team admin. For now, let's focus on your personal scripts.
Creating a New Script
Click the “Add Phone Script” button in the upper right. You'll be asked to:

Enter a script name (e.g., “Training Script”).

Optionally add a description.
-
Leave the “All Folders” section as-is—it won’t impact how the script is used in sessions.
Now scroll down to the Your Script section. This is where you'll type the body of your script—what you’ll see while making calls.
Example:

Start with: “Hey, is this John?”
But instead of hardcoding "John," use a merge code so it's personalized.
Using Merge Codes for Dynamic Personalization
To use dynamic fields:

Click the tag icon (merge code tool) on the right side.
-
Choose Recipient First Name to insert the actual name of the person you're calling.
Now your script becomes:

“Hey, is this [Recipient First Name]?”
This makes the experience more personalized without extra effort on your part.
Customizing for Your Team
Let’s say your script says: “Great, this is Jeff.”
If your name is Jeff, that works—but as your team grows, you’ll want this to reflect the agent using the script.

Delete “Jeff” and insert the Sender First Name merge code.

Now the script adjusts automatically for each user on your team.
You can also merge custom fields, if you’ve imported unique data into PhoneBurner.
Using HTML (Optional)
Scripts support HTML source code. If you’ve created a script in another platform using HTML, you can copy and paste it into PhoneBurner. Just make sure to adapt the merge codes to PhoneBurner's system.
Saving and Managing Scripts
Once you're done writing your script, click Save.
Your script now appears in your script list, where you can:

Edit it,

Copy it to make variations, and

Preview it before use.
Click the preview icon to view what your script looks like in a live session.
