What is the Caller ID verification policy?

The FTC and FCC have begun tightening regulations and penalties surrounding Caller IDs, with a large focus on authentication. This is done to combat the rapid increase in spam calls, robocalls, and caller ID spoofing. Due to these regulations, PhoneBurner now requires users to verify that a phone number is owned or associated with that user prior to being able to use it as their Caller ID. 

By requiring Caller ID Verification, it ensures that a number is authorized for use, and protects our users, our platform, and the contacts we dial from any ill effects of these regulations. Verification prevents usage that is non-transparent or even fraudulent.
