✅ Summary:
This training walks through how to create a Blind Pull LeadStream for a nurture-style campaign in PhoneBurner, enabling your team to continue following up with older or heavily worked leads at a slower cadence. These nurture calls help ensure that no lead is ever truly “dead”—just worked less frequently over time.
Key Concepts Covered:
- Set up a Blind Pull LeadStream called "Nurture Calls" for contacts that should only be dialed (e.g.) once every 30 days.
- Configure custom folders: a distribution folder for contacts to be worked and a receiving folder for where reps see leads they’re calling.
- Recycle settings ensure leads automatically re-enter the stream after a set time (e.g., 30 days).
- Use advanced search filters to define which contacts should be moved into the nurture campaign (e.g., based on age, total call attempts, or folder location).
- Create and pin saved searches like “Contacts to Move” to regularly review and shift leads into the nurture stream.
- Customize the voicemail in the dialer preset so reps leave consistent nurture messages.
- Optionally leave the receiving folder unlocked to allow reps to choose their own, though this should be managed carefully if using saved searches.
This approach helps maintain consistent long-term follow-up with older leads, making sure opportunities aren’t missed—even if they're no longer “hot.”

📝 Cleaned-Up Transcript:
You know what they say—there's never a dead lead. A lead is only dead when you stop working it. In this training, I want to walk you through how the PhoneBurner system can help you systematically and consistently work your data, even as it ages.
We’ll focus on creating a Blind Pull LeadStream for a nurture-style campaign. Once leads hit a certain age or call threshold, you may want to slow down how often they’re contacted. Instead of calling them every few hours like you might with hot leads, you want to call them perhaps once a month.
Step-by-Step Setup
We previously created a Hot Fresh Leads lead stream that recycled leads every 2 hours. Over time, those leads cool down, and we may want to move them into a nurture campaign, which can be worked less frequently—possibly by specific reps or on a rotating basis.
Let’s walk through how to do that:
1. Create a New LeadStream
- Go to the LeadStream section and click Create New LeadStream
- Enable it and name it “Nurture Calls”
- Choose the type: Blind/Preview Pull
- Select or create a dialer preset:
- You can build a custom voicemail and phone script for this preset if needed
- Set caller ID, voicemail, and enable call recording
- Save your changes
2. Create Distribution and Receiving Folders
- Create a distribution folder: “Nurture Calls”
- Create a receiving folder: “Nurture RCV”
- Decide whether to lock the receiving folder
- If unlocked, users can choose their own folder
- If locked, the system will direct all leads to the selected folder
3. Set Recycle Settings
- Recycle leads back into the distribution folder after 30 days
- This ensures leads are worked occasionally but not too often
4. Add Recipients
- Add team members to the stream
- You may leave the daily lead limits blank
- If the receiving folder isn’t locked at the stream level, you can set or lock it per user
Moving Older Data into the Nurture Stream
Since these leads are likely already in PhoneBurner, you'll use Advanced Search to define which contacts to move. For example:
- Date Added: More than 30 days ago
- Folder: Still in the “Hot Fresh Leads” folder
- Total Calls: 15 or more
Create and save this search. You can pin it for quick access and even make it your default contact view. That way, every time you log in, you see contacts ready to be moved into the Nurture Calls stream.
From there:
- Select the contacts
- Move them to the Nurture Calls folder (which triggers the LeadStream)
How often you run this process depends on your lead volume—maybe daily, weekly, or monthly.
Configuring the Dialing Experience
You might want to leave a special voicemail for nurture calls. Here’s how:
- Go to Voicemail Library
- Create or select a voicemail (e.g., “Nurture Message”)
- Assign it to your Nurture Calls dialer preset
You can configure the system to automatically use that voicemail, or ask reps to choose at the start of the session.
Rep Experience
When a rep logs in and goes to Leads > Nurture Calls, they’ll see the lead stream and (if not locked) will be able to choose their receiving folder. That flexibility can be useful, but just be cautious—it can impact any saved search workflows you’ve built.
Once leads are present in the stream, reps can start dialing. Because it’s a blind pull, multiple team members can work the stream at the same time—maximizing efficiency.
Final Tips
- Use saved searches to regularly move aging leads into the nurture stream
- Pair with appropriate voicemails and scripts to keep messaging relevant
- Leverage recycle timers to space out calls—avoiding over-dialing cold contacts
- If using unlocked folders, coordinate with reps so your workflows remain consistent
This system allows you to stay in front of older leads without overwhelming your team, ensuring you're making the most of every opportunity.
Thanks for watching—and happy dialing!
