✅ Summary:
This training video focuses on the Blind Pull LeadStream type in PhoneBurner, highlighting how it functions and how admins can configure dialer presets for control and efficiency. In a Blind Pull LeadStream, reps don’t see the leads until they begin calling. This allows admins to preconfigure essential dial session settings (like voicemail recording, caller ID, phone script, and live answer set) to avoid errors and streamline the process.
Dialer presets are required for Blind Pull LeadStreams and can be assigned at either the LeadStream level (as the default) or per individual user. This provides flexibility—for example, admins can lock down settings for most reps while giving select reps the ability to choose their voicemail or caller ID. However, settings like the dialing and live answer set cannot be changed by users to ensure data tracking integrity.
Overall, this setup helps eliminate mistakes, speeds up the dialing process, and provides scalable flexibility across teams.

📝 Cleaned-Up Transcript:
With PhoneBurner, there are many different ways you can distribute or make leads or contacts available to your team. LeadStreams are one of those methods. Even within LeadStreams, there are different types designed to fit how your team works and the type of leads you're handling.
In this specific training, I want to focus on one particular type: the Blind Pull LeadStream. This type is unique in that team members assigned to it don’t actually see the leads until they start calling them. Because of this, it’s important for you, as an admin, to have control over the dial session settings.
Let’s take a step back. Normally, when using PhoneBurner, you go to the Contact Manager, select contacts, and begin a dial session. Each time you start one, you configure session settings—choose a phone script, select a voicemail, and define the dialing and live answer set.
But with a Blind Pull LeadStream, the leads have already been determined. You don’t want your reps to make critical decisions or mistakes during this phase. You want consistency. That’s why Dialer Presets exist.
There are two big reasons for using dialer presets:
- Control – Prevent reps from selecting the wrong voicemail, caller ID, or live answer set.
- Speed – Reduce friction and start calls faster by eliminating unnecessary decisions.
With a Blind Pull LeadStream, assigning a dialer preset is required. Here's how to set it up:
- As an admin, go to the gear icon in the upper right of the Contact Manager.
- Navigate to LeadStream, then open your desired stream (e.g., “Hot and Fresh”).
- When configuring this lead stream, assign one of your saved dialer presets.
These presets contain all the predefined settings—scripts, voicemail, caller ID, and live answer sets. When a rep starts a dial session from this lead stream, they’re taken directly into dialing. They don’t see a list of settings—they just connect and start calling.
Now, what if you want your reps to make a few choices, like picking their voicemail? That’s easy.
- Go to Dial Session Settings → Dialer Presets.
- Edit the preset (e.g., “Hot and Fresh”) and set Voicemail Recording to “Ask Me.”
Now, when reps start dialing from that LeadStream, they’ll be asked which voicemail to use before proceeding. However, note that they cannot change the dialing and live answer set—that’s fixed to preserve tracking integrity.
They can choose the phone script, voicemail, caller ID, and (if permitted) call recording options.
Let me show you how this works from a team member’s perspective.
- First, confirm whether the user has permission to manage call recording. If not, they won’t see that option during dial session setup.
- Log in as the team member and go to Leads → “Hot and Fresh.”
- Start a dial session—you’ll see that this rep cannot enable or disable call recording, because they don't have that permission.
Now, let’s take it one step further.
From the admin view, go back to LeadStream Settings using your quick link. In the “Hot and Fresh” stream, you can define the dialer preset at the stream level (which is the default for all reps assigned). But here’s the powerful part:
You can override that per user.
- Go to Manage Recipients.
- Edit a specific team member.
- Choose whether they’ll use the LeadStream default preset or a different one specific to them.
So, if you want most of your reps to go straight into dialing with no choices, you can assign a preset at the LeadStream level. For a trusted rep who should be able to select their voicemail or caller ID, you can assign a different preset just for them.
This gives you ultimate control and flexibility over how each rep works from a Blind Pull LeadStream.
In summary, dialer presets are a powerful way to streamline and standardize your team’s dial sessions when using Blind Pull LeadStreams. Whether you need full control or rep-level customization, PhoneBurner gives you the tools to get more done, more efficiently.
Thanks again for watching, and happy dialing!
