đź“‹ Video Summary:
In this video, Jeff Osness, Principal Evangelist at PhoneBurner, explains how to use the new Clay + PhoneBurner integration template to automatically send enriched contacts from Clay directly into your PhoneBurner account—no manual exporting or importing required.
Key Steps Covered:
-
Using the Clay Enrichment Template:
-
From your Clay table, click “Add Enrichment”.
-
Search for “PhoneBurner”, click on Templates, and select the “Send Your Enriched Contacts” template.
-
Click “Use Template” to begin.
-

Mapping Fields:
-
Map your Clay columns (e.g., First Name, Last Name, Phone Number) to PhoneBurner fields.
-
You can review and update the body section of the integration to define which fields are required or optional (e.g., make “Phone Number” required but allow “Last Name” to be optional).
-
-
Optional – Set Folder Assignment:
-
By default, new contacts are created in the Contacts folder.
-
You can assign contacts to a specific folder by copying the Folder ID from your PhoneBurner account and updating the folder ID field in the body of the template (e.g., to “Clay Prospects”).
-
-
Customize Notes and Custom Fields:
-
A default note is added saying the contact came from Clay.
-
Custom fields like Company Name, Job Title, Location, Domain, and LinkedIn Profile are also included.
-
You can add additional custom fields or make any field optional.
-
-
Add Your Access Token:
-
From PhoneBurner, go to Integrations > Personal Access Tokens and generate a new token.
-
Copy and paste it into the Authorization Header in Clay using the format:
Bearer [your_token_here]
-
-
Testing & Running the Template:
-
Use “Save and Don’t Run” to test on individual rows first.
-
Once validated, run the integration on your full table.
-
Successfully created records appear in the assigned PhoneBurner folder with notes and custom field data.
-
This integration helps you and your team seamlessly enrich and sync data, keeping your PhoneBurner contact list clean, segmented, and ready for efficient dialing.

Hello, this is Jeff Aus, Principal Evangelist here at PhoneBurner, and I want to show you a new template available in Clay that makes it super easy to automatically send enriched contacts into your PhoneBurner account.
Step 1: Add the Enrichment Template in Clay
-
From your Clay table, click the blue “Add Enrichment” button.
-
Search for “PhoneBurner”, go to Templates, and select:
“Clay PhoneBurner – Send Your Enriched Contacts”
-
Click “Use Template.”
Step 2: Map Your Data Fields
Now, map fields from your Clay table to PhoneBurner:
-
First Name → First Name
-
Last Name → Last Name
-
Phone Number → Phone Number
-
Job Title, Company Name, and others may already be pre-mapped.
Click Use Template to apply it.
Step 3: Edit the Template Body
-
Customize how data is passed into PhoneBurner.
-
Phone number is required (because we can’t call without it), but you can set other fields (like Last Name) as optional.
Add Contacts to a Specific Folder:
-
In PhoneBurner, go to Settings > Folders, and copy the Folder ID for your desired folder (e.g., “Clay Prospects”).
-
Paste that ID into the
category_id
field in the template.
Customize the Default Note and Fields:
-
The default note says “This contact was sent via Clay.”
-
You can modify this or add custom fields like LinkedIn URL or Company Domain.
-
Optional: Make custom fields non-required so they don’t block the sync.
Step 4: Add Your Personal Access Token
-
In PhoneBurner, go to Integrations > Personal Access Tokens.
-
Generate a new token, then copy it.
-
Back in Clay, paste it into the Authorization Header:
Bearer [your_token_here]
Step 5: Test and Run
-
To test, use “Save and Don’t Run” and manually run one row.
-
Go to PhoneBurner and check your assigned folder.
-
You’ll see the synced contact with the correct fields and note.
Once confirmed, run the full list. You’ll now see all eligible contacts synced from Clay to your selected PhoneBurner folder.
And that’s it! Now you can instantly and automatically send enriched leads from Clay into PhoneBurner, ready for dialing.
Thanks for watching—and as always, happy dialing!
