PhoneBurner is all about helping you get more done in less time—and one of the most powerful features to help you do that is dispositions. These are the buttons you’ll click during your dial sessions to mark the outcome of each call.
A lot of automation can be built into dispositions, so it’s crucial that you customize them to match your process.
Accessing Dispositions
From your account:
-
Click your initials in the top right.
-
Go to Settings > Dial Session.
-
Click Dispositions on the left.
You’ll see two sections:
-
Dialing Sets – Buttons available before a call connects (e.g., voicemail, no answer).
-
Live Answer Sets – Buttons that appear after a live conversation.
You can create as many sets as needed.
Customizing a Dialing Set
Let’s edit the Starter Dialing Set. It includes:
-
Live Voicemail
-
No Answer
-
Busy Signal
-
Bad Number
Let’s add a Recorded Voicemail button:
-
Click Add New Button and name it “Recorded Voicemail.”
-
The Call Status and Note auto-fill.
-
Set Voicemail to “Dial Session Default” so you can choose a voicemail when starting each session.
-
Click Save Changes, then drag to reorder if desired.
Let’s customize Bad Number:
-
Scroll down to Move to Folder.
-
You can select an existing folder or click Create a New Folder (e.g., “Bad Number”) and place it inside “Campaign Calls.”
-
You can also:
-
Trigger emails
-
Add/remove tags
-
Delete contacts
-
Trigger webhooks
-
Schedule follow-ups
-
-
Click Save Changes.
Customizing the Live Answer Set
Now let’s configure your Live Answer Set:
Set Appointment
-
Edit the button and set it to move contacts into the Appointments folder.
Not Interested
-
Move these contacts into the Not Interested folder.
Follow-Up
-
Move to the Follow-Ups folder.
-
Under Follow-Up, check Set Date to require setting a date before the button can be clicked.
Unavailable
-
Leave this one unassigned to a folder, so contacts stay in the campaign list.
Wrong Number
-
If the number is valid but not for your contact, choose whether to use the Bad Number folder or create a Wrong Number folder. (In this example, we use “Bad Number.”)
Do Not Call (DNC)
-
Create a DNC folder.
-
Choose whether to mark only the number or the entire contact as DNC. In this case, we’re DNC’ing the specific number only.
Now your dispositions are fully customized and linked to your folder system. You’re set up to automatically organize contacts as you make calls, saving time and reducing errors.
You can always come back and add more buttons based on your workflow needs.
Now it’s your turn—go to your Dispositions, start customizing them, and boost your efficiency.
Once you're done, mark this training as completed and move on to the next step.
Thanks for watching, and happy dialing!
