đź“‹ Summary
This video demonstrates how to configure which phone number PhoneBurner dials first when initiating a dial session from a Salesforce lead record. By default, PhoneBurner prioritizes the “Phone” field, but users can easily switch it to Mobile, Other, or even a custom-mapped field via the PhoneBurner integration settings.
Steps include:
-
Navigating to the Salesforce integration settings in PhoneBurner,
-
Selecting the preferred phone number field for Lead or Contact records,
-
Saving the change to update the dial session behavior,
-
Seeing that selected field dialed first in real-time when launching a new session.
This setting provides flexibility to match your team’s outreach strategy—whether calling personal cells, direct lines, or custom numbers.

Hello there, and thank you for taking a moment to watch this video.
In this training, we're continuing our Salesforce integration series for PhoneBurner®, and more specifically—we're talking about which phone number gets dialed first when you start a dial session on a lead.
If you've watched the earlier videos, you’ve already seen how to:
Install the PhoneBurner app,
Add the option to launch dial sessions from the Leads object.
Now let’s dive into phone number prioritization.
Example: Alan Scott’s Record
Alan Scott has:
A Phone field,
A Mobile Phone field,
And an Additional Phone field (which we’ll cover in another video).
By default, PhoneBurner will dial the number in the Phone field first.
But if you’d rather dial the Mobile number first, you can change this setting in just a few clicks.
Step-by-Step: Set the Preferred Number
Go to PhoneBurner.com and log in.
Click your initials in the top right.
Click Integrations.
Under Salesforce Integration, click Details.
Scroll to the bottom to find Salesforce Lead Object preferences.
Use the dropdown to select Mobile Phone as your primary field.
Click Save.
âś… Now, whenever you start a dial session from the Leads object, PhoneBurner will prioritize Mobile.
What You'll See in the Dial Session
In the dial session window:
Both Phone and Mobile are visible and callable,
But Mobile will be queued up first (i.e., preselected for the call).
📝 Bonus: You can do the same for the Contact object by setting the default field for contacts in the same Integrations section.
And that’s it! That’s how easy it is to define which phone number PhoneBurner calls first when dialing from Salesforce.
This gives your team control over call routing to optimize connection rates.
Thanks again for watching, and as always—happy dialing!
