đź“‹ Summary
This training video walks through how to enable PhoneBurner dial session buttons on the Task object in Salesforce. When reps work from long lists of open or overdue tasks, being able to initiate high-speed dial sessions directly from the Task list dramatically improves efficiency. However, due to Salesforce’s object structure, setting this up requires a few specific steps.
The process includes:
-
Navigating to the Activity object (not just the Task object),
-
Editing Search Layouts and List View Button Layouts to add the “Begin Contact PhoneBurner Session” and “Begin Lead PhoneBurner Session” buttons,
-
Ensuring the Task view is switched to Table View (instead of Split View) in order to see and use the dial session buttons.
Once configured, users can begin calling their contact or lead-related tasks with just a couple of clicks, streamlining follow-up and call management inside Salesforce.

Hello there! Thank you for taking a moment to watch this video.
In this training, we’re continuing our Salesforce integration and setup for the PhoneBurner® app.
This is one part of a broader training series, and I highly recommend you watch the videos in order, as each one builds on the last.
Today, we’re focusing on powering through your tasks using PhoneBurner, specifically from the Tasks object in Salesforce.
If you’re staring at a list of open or overdue tasks and wondering how to get through them faster—PhoneBurner can help.
Step 1: Assumption
We’ll assume you already have the PhoneBurner app installed in Salesforce.
Step 2: Add the Dial Session Buttons
Click on the gear icon in the top right corner.
Go to Setup > Object Manager.
You might think to click on “Task,” but instead, search for and select Activity (since Salesforce handles tasks and events under the Activity object).
Once inside the Activity object:
Go to Search Layouts > Default Layout.
Click Edit.
Under “Buttons,” find and add:
Begin Contact PhoneBurner Session
Begin Lead PhoneBurner Session
(Tip: You only need to add the button that matches the records you plan to call—Contacts or Leads—but we’re adding both here.)
Click Save.
Next:
On the left-hand side, click List View Button Layout.
Click Edit, and again, add both dial session buttons.
Click Save.
Step 3: Switch to Table View
Go back to your Tasks tab.
Refresh the page.
If you don’t see the buttons yet, make sure you're in Table View (not Split View).
Once in Table View:
The Begin Contact PhoneBurner Session and Begin Lead PhoneBurner Session buttons will now appear.
You can now select tasks and launch dial sessions directly from this list.
That’s it! You’ve now enabled your team to quickly launch PhoneBurner dial sessions from Salesforce tasks.
Thanks again for watching—and happy dialing!
