đź“‹ Summary
This training video explains how to add custom fields to a custom object in Salesforce in order to support PhoneBurner® dial session tracking. While standard objects like Leads and Contacts come with PhoneBurner’s custom fields—Number of Attempted Calls, Last Attempt Date and Time, and Last Disposition—custom objects require you to create these fields manually.
The video walks through step-by-step instructions to:
-
Navigate to Salesforce’s Object Manager.
-
Select the desired custom object (e.g., "Property").
-
Create and configure three new fields:
-
A Number field for attempted calls,
-
A Date/Time field for the last attempt,
-
A Text field for the last disposition.
-
These fields will allow teams to track call activity and dispositions on custom records in Salesforce, laying the foundation for enhanced reporting and automation. A follow-up training video is teased, where the instructor will demonstrate how to build automation to populate these fields based on PhoneBurner activity.

Hello, and welcome! In this training, we’re continuing our discussion on the Salesforce integration with PhoneBurner®—and specifically, how to add dial session tracking to a custom object you may have created in Salesforce.
As you’ve seen in earlier videos, the Leads and Contacts objects come preloaded with three custom fields when using PhoneBurner:
Number of Attempted Calls
Last Attempt Date and Time
Last Disposition
These fields help track your outbound calling activity. But if you’re working with a custom object, such as a “Property” object, these fields won’t be present by default.
The Good News:
You can easily create these fields manually, and that’s what I’ll show you now.
Step-by-Step Setup:
Click Setup in Salesforce.
Go to Object Manager.
Search for and select your custom object (e.g., Property).
Click Fields & Relationships, then New.
First Field: Number of Attempted Calls
Select the Number field type.
Name it “Number of Calls” (or your preferred label).
Leave the default length or adjust as needed.
Add optional description or help text.
Click Next, then Next, and Save & New to create another field.
Second Field: Last Attempt Date and Time
Choose Date/Time field type.
Name it something like “Last Call Date and Time”.
Add a description if you'd like.
Click Next, Next, then Save & New.
Third Field: Last Disposition
Choose Text as the field type.
Name it “Last Disposition”.
Set the length to at least 32 characters (since PhoneBurner dispositions max out at 32).
Click Next, Next, and then Save.
View in the Object:
Now that the fields are created:
Return to your custom object’s list view (e.g., “All Properties”).
Adjust the visible columns to show:
Last Disposition
Last Call Date and Time
Number of Calls
(Note: These fields will be blank initially since they haven’t been populated yet.)
What’s Next?
In the next video, I’ll walk you through creating automation in Salesforce to populate these fields after each call made through PhoneBurner.
Thanks for taking the time to watch this video—and as always, happy dialing!
