To take advantage of PhoneBurner’s Local Presence feature you must complete a form and be able to show proof of business in the local areas you would like to dynamically match your purchased local numbers to.
The PhoneBurner Trust & Safety team will review each form and reach out afterward for proof of a business presence in the areas you would like to match to.
You must be approved to help comply with the Truth in Caller ID Act.
The Truth in Caller ID Act prohibits the use of caller ID “spoofing,” which entails the practice of modifying caller ID information by making a call appear to come from a phone number or location different from the originating phone number with the intent to deceive.
To start this process, please make sure you have already completed your Business Verification Form located in your Business Verification Form. Once you get to this page, select Add Business Verification to be brought to the form.
Once that is complete, follow these steps.
Step 1: Go to the Local Presence page by selecting the drop-down in the top right corner, under settings select Numbers.
Step 2: You will select Local Presence in the left-hand column.
Step 3: Select the Request button to be brought to the page to complete the form.
Step 4: Complete the form.
After the form is complete, a Trust & Safety team member will reach out within 24 hours for proof of business presence. This proof should be provided for each state you wish to use Local Presence. Examples of proof: a business ID (federal tax ID or state registration number), a screenshot of a specific license (NPN, NMLS, real estate license, etc.), a business address, or proof of state sales tax registration/permit/license.
Once the information is sent back to the Trust & Safety team it will be reviewed.
- If approved, the Trust & Safety team will notify you and activate Local Presence within 2 to 4 business days.
- If not approved or more information is needed, the Trust & Safety team will reach out within 24 hours.
