Cleaned-Up Transcript
Here's a quick overview of how you can manage your numbers and number pools to stay on top of your phone numbers.
To access your number inventory, click on your initials in the upper-right corner of your PhoneBurner account, then select Numbers under Settings. This will take you to your inventory, where you can see a list of all your number pools.
Number pools can be customized with different routing strategies, assigned to individuals or groups, and configured in various ways.
Adding Numbers to a Pool
If you need to expand a pool for better call distribution, follow these steps:
- Find the number pool you want to update.
- Click the three dots on the right side and select Purchase Numbers.
- Choose your desired state and area code.
- Adjust the number of phone numbers you wish to purchase.
- Click Place Your Order — the new number will be added to your pool shortly.
Managing Unused Number Pools
If you have a number pool that's no longer in use, you can manage it by:
- Moving Numbers: Click the three dots next to the number you want to move, then select a new number pool. This makes the number available as a caller ID in the new pool.
- Deleting Numbers: Click the three dots next to a number and choose Delete. You can either:
- Release it immediately to stop being charged.
- Hold it for 30 days in case you're still receiving callbacks.
Pausing Numbers
If you need to temporarily disable a number without deleting it:
- Click the three dots next to the number and select Pause.
- While paused, the number will no longer be used as an outbound caller ID, but callbacks will still reach the assigned user.
- When you’re ready to reactivate the number, click the three dots again and select Unpause to restore it to the pool's rotation.
By maintaining good number hygiene, you ensure that your phone numbers are effectively managed, minimizing costs and improving outbound campaign performance.
