Branded Caller ID FAQs
If you haven't read our main article on Branded Caller ID, please read that by visiting this page.
What is CNAM?
CNAM (which stands for Caller ID Name) is a component of caller ID. In today's world, the ability to access this information relies on consumers having paid third-party services that look up and display this information.
How is Branded Caller ID different than CNAM?
Your CNAM may only display if your contact is paying for a caller ID solution with their carrier. Branded Caller ID gives you more control over what information is displayed and where. This solution empowers you to display information on the end consumer's mobile device.
What is the cost?
You will be billed at a rate per branded call. See the sign-up form for specifics.
How long does it take to get set up and live?
Carriers have varying approval timelines, and it can take between 5 and 15 business days to activate branding.
What are the benefits of the solution?
Branded Caller ID solution allows you to brand calls to a wide network of mobile customers, turning unanswered calls into welcomed conversations. It helps you increase answer rates, engage in higher-quality conversations, and build your brand reputation.
What about calls that aren't made in PhoneBurner?
This solution will be applied to all calls from the numbers you submit regardless if the call is made in or outside of PhoneBurner.
Can I use any number, or does it only work with PhoneBurner numbers?
No, it works with any number that you own.
Do I have to have a certain plan type to use this Branded Caller ID solution?
No, it works on any plan.
For the Display name, is this something that can be changed?
We recommend you keep the brand name the same to align with best practices of building a brand reputation for your numbers. However, if you need to make a change request, email numbers@phoneburner.com and we will review it on a case by case.
Are there contracts or minimum commitments for using this solution?
There is a minimum charge for registering your Branded Caller ID with T-Mobile and Verizon. If you exceed that minimum, we bill based on your monthly usage. You can start or cancel this service at any time. The AT&T network is handled through a separate process and you can learn more about that process here.
