What is a Business Verification ?
The Business Verification is a core requirement for both STIR/SHAKEN and A2P 10DLC legislation, recently passed to combat fraud and spam and restore consumer trust in phone and text-based messaging. This short form is used by the carriers to verify your identity on outgoing communications.
Why should I register?
The Business Verification Form, which can be completed in minutes, includes fields such as business name, registration/EIN number, physical address, industry, website, authorized contact person, and other information.
The information allows carriers to authenticate your ownership of the numbers you use to communicate with your contacts.
Once approved, your Business Verification not only grants you A-level attestation on calls from PhoneBurner numbers, but should pave the way for improved reputation, deliverability and volume thresholds for both phone and text communications.
Additionally, a completed Business Verification Form will be required by all major U.S carriers (e.g. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) to send text messages via an application (A2P 10DLC) such as PhoneBurner.
