Customers who register for A2P 10DLC compliance and are approved can also use their vPhone numbers to send and receive SMS messages.
Usage limits and overages
Any vPhone-enabled account includes 1,000 outbound and unlimited inbound text messages per calendar month. A SMS message segment is 160 characters (or only 80 characters if you use emojis in the message). Each segment counts toward the 1000 monthly outbound limit. Unused messages do not rollover to the following month. Outbound messages can not be shared or pooled between users.
Overages for outbound messages are billed at a rate of $15 per additional 1,000 messages.
To avoid interruption of service, charges are billed immediately when a number has 0 remaining messages.
SMS is a one-to-one text messaging service, just like you have on your mobile phone. Texts are to be sent to individuals you are in contact with, one at a time, to complement calls and email communications.
This kind of personalized outreach is not only more effective, but it also prevents your vPhone number from being blocked by carriers - as well as your Caller ID coming up as “potential spam” when making calls.
You may be required to share your compliant opt-in process for new leads that you text message thru PhoneBurner. It is important to have records showing that you are acquiring consent from contacts before messaging them.
Mass texting, text marketing campaigns, and blasts are not the intended use case with vPhone and abuse may result in your service being terminated.
