Manage vPhone Numbers:
vPhone is for Premium Accounts only. A vPhone Number is a cloud-based, virtual phone number that includes a set of features designed to make managing business calls and communications easier. Features include inbound call handling, voicemail management, and SMS text messaging. (Compliance approval is required for SMS use.)
You can purchase and manage your vPhone numbers from the vPhone tab of your back office. Here, you can review call history (inbound and outbound), listen to voicemails, and view and respond to text messages.
Setting up vPhone:
Your vPhone number is shown on the Inbound Page under My Routing page, followed by different settings for Inbound Call Routing and Voicemail.
If desired, you can forward incoming calls routed to your vPhone number to another number of your choice.
Note: You cannot enter your vPhone number as your forwarding number. This would cause an infinite loop of calls ringing with no one there and calls you cannot answer. If you do not have a call forwarding number to use, just turn off call forwarding and leave the field blank.
Setting up vPhone Voicemail Greeting
If you want to have the system answer your calls for you when you are not available, you can record a voicemail greeting here or let it play a default message. When enabled, voicemails will be available for review on your voicemail tab, as well as emailed to you.
On the Inbound Setting under My Routing, scroll down to the bottom of the page to record or upload a voicemail greeting for incoming callbacks.
PLEASE NOTE: Turning on the Inbound Voicemail box feature will also enable a ‘whisper’. If you forward an incoming call, the call will be announced with “Call from PhoneBurner” with an option to accept or decline the call.
Manage vPhones for Teams
Admins can easily purchase and assign vPhone numbers to their team, so that reps have dedicated numbers to manage outreach and communications.
To create a new vPhone assignment:
- Create a 1-person Number Pool with the name of the dialer/seat on your team (Ie. “Rachel C vPhone”)
- Set Routing Strategy to Team Member and select the dialer/seat name from the list.
- Click Submit
- Now you can move any of your numbers into this Team Members number pool
All vPhone numbers that are already assigned to seats on your team will be in individual Number Pools for each dialer/seat.
